The Commission also has set a deadline to submit written comments on the utility's application. For a living unit that is less than 500 square feet, the utility is seeking Commission approval to increase the flat rate from $39 per month to $93 per month. Schweitzer Basin Water is proposing to increase the flat rate for living units that are more than 500 square feet from $41 per month to $93 per month. The utility also is proposing to increase non-recurring fees for new connection transfers, among other items. The utility's last rate increase was in 2012. It said the increase is needed to meet regulatory requirements, continue a system improvement program, cover expenses associated with routine operations, and allow for a reasonable rate of return. The workshop will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 27, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. (PDT). It will be held at the Sandpoint Center, Marigold Conference Room, 414 Church Street, Sandpoint, ID, 83864. Commission staff will present an overview of Schweitzer Basin's application and answer questions. The Commission is accepting written comments on the application through Tuesday, Jan. 12, 2027.
