SUBJECT: IN THE MATTER OF AVISTA CORPORATION'S APPLICATIONS FOR
A DETERMINATION OF 2025 ELECTRIC AND NATURAL GAS
ENERGY EFFICIENCY EXPENSES AS PRUDENTLY INCURRED; CASE
NOS. AVU-E-26-11 AND AVU-G-26-06.
On August 31, 2026, Avista Corporation, doing business as Avista Utilities ("Company"),
filed two applications with the Idaho Public Utilities Commission ("Commission") requesting
prudence determinations of its 2025 electric and gas energy efficiency expenses for future
ratemaking purposes (collectively, the "Applications").
The Company requests an order designating its electric energy efficiency expenditures
from January 1, 2025, through December 31, 2025, funded through the Company's Schedule 91
Energy Efficiency Rider Adjustment in the amount of$20,688,852, as prudently incurred.
The Company also requests an order designating its natural gas energy efficiency
expenditures from January 1, 2025, through December 31, 2025, funded through the Company's
Schedule 191 Energy Efficiency Rider Adjustment in the amount of $2,742,431, as prudently
incurred.
STAFF RECOMMENDATION
Due to the similarities in each Application, Commission Staff("Staff') recommends the
Commission process the Applications together. Staff also recommends the Commission issue a
Notice of Applications and Notice of Intervention Deadline establishing a 21 day intervention
period.
