The Staff of the Idaho Public Utilities Commission, by and through its attomey of record,
Daphne Huang, Deputy Attorney General, request that Avista Corporation (Company) provide
the following documents and information as soon as possible, or by MONDAY,
DECEMBER ll,20t7.l
This Production Request is continuing, and the Company is requested to provide, by way
of supplementary responses, additional documents that it or any person acting on its behalf may
later obtain that will augment the documents produced.
Please provide answers to each question, and supporting workpapers that provide detail
or are the source of information used in calculations. The Company is reminded that responses
pursuant to Commission Rules of Procedure must include the name and phone number of the

In addition to the written copies provided as response to the questions, please provide all
Excel and electronic files on CD with formulas activated.
REQUEST NO. 9: Pages l2-2 and 12-3 rndrcate that operating costs for the entire
Colstrip plant are expected to increase when Units 1 and 2 close. Please describe how these
increased operating costs were included when the retirement dates for Units 3 and 4 were
modeled. In addition, please provide the values used for the increased operating cost in each
retirement scenario and an explanation for how the increased operating cost increase numbers
were determined.
REQUEST NO. 10: Please provide the $lkW-yr. value for deferred T&D. 2077 Electric
IRP at 5-14.
REQUEST NO. 11: Please explain why Avista does not conduct energy efficiency
audits of the Colstrip generation plant. 2017 Electric IRP at 5-14.
REQUEST NO. 12: Please provide the following cost information in table form for
each of the resources the Company modeled in its 2017 IRP to meet future resource needs:
