percentage ownership of each unit and each owner's preferred retirement date for each unit.

Puget Sound Energy and Talen Energy have agreed to shut down units I & 2by Iuly 2022
Units 3 & 4
Avista is not aware of preferred retirement dates for any of the participating utilities. Although,
given Oregon State law (SB 1547) PacifiCorp and Portland General Electric cannot use coal to
serve Oregon customer load beginning in 2030, with a partial exception for some of the output
from Colstrip for Portland General Electric to 2035. Puget Sound Energy recently agreed in a
general rate case settlement to depreciate units 3 & 4 capital cost wtil2027, afterward capital costs
will not be included in customer rates. This agreement does not set a scheduled plant closure date
and must still be approved by the Washington Utilities & Transportation Commission. In Puget
Sound Energy's presentations of 2017 Integrated Resource plan, the Colstrip plant is not in the
plan past 2035, as this date was its prior book depreciation life.
