NEWS RELEASE: Commission Approves Electric Utility's Application to Sell Land
BOISE (Aug. 18, 2026) — The Idaho Public Utilities Commission has approved an application
submitted by Idaho Power to sell approximately 0.6 acres of land in Boise to a buyer who was
leasing it for a parking area.
The land was sold to the buyer for$100,470. Idaho Power reserves a powerline easement over the
land. The sale releases Idaho Power from the responsibility of owning and maintaining the land
while allowing the utility to use it for its intended purpose under the easement.
Idaho Power said customer rates would not be impacted by the sale.
