Comment: " I have been a resident and customer of Schweitzer and Schweitzer Basin
Water since 1997. I understand the issues facing the aging water system and its financial
challenges. I think it is reasonable to raise the rate for service but not 134% of the current
rate. The lack of deferred maintenance to this 50 plus year old system is prevalent on every
street that it services. Every year there is at least one major disaster due to the amount of
proactive maintenance and Replacement of aging infrastructure. A rate increase of 134%
is absurd. To pay$93 per month or$1,116 per year for water is EXCESSIVE for water
service. I suggest that they raise their rate to accommodate for the need upgrades and
expansion of water capacity for the amount of current and future development. I would be
acceptable to an increase of$55 to$60 per month."
