I am sending this note in response to SBW request for rate request to begin 9/01/2026. To
begin I am very disappointed at the short notice and the size of the increase.. some
increase may be necessary but 127% seems a little high. Apparently there have been no
rate changes since 2012 and the applicant has been losing money each year since. If there
have been system improvements during this period I am not aware of any.
I am not totally opposed to some increase as it may be necessary however the percentage
requested seems unreasonable.

Comment: "Allowing a 127%to 138% increase plus additional non recurring charges is
absurd! This will put an outrageous burden on property owners who use the property less
than 30% of the year. Our building is completely vacant 275 days per year. Fees should be
based on CONSUMPTION!, not an outrageous flat fee. If the water companywants more
profit, then cut expenses, cut bloated administrative costs. Stop putting your waste on the
backs of consumers who do VERY LITTLE consuming of water. If this proposal is approved,
all of the owners of our building will be leaving our water faucets on 24/7. If we are forced to
pay outrageous flat water fees, then water WILL BE WASTED with no remorse! The only fair
model is a CONSUMPTION based billing model (pay per gallon used)."
