HomeMy WebLinkAbout20260803Final_Order_No_37113.pdf Office of the Secretary Service Date August 3,2026 BEFORE THE IDAHO PUBLIC UTILITIES COMMISSION IN THE MATTER OF THE APPLICATION ) CASE NOS.AVU-E-25-01 OF AVISTA CORPORATION FOR THE ) AVU-G-25-01 AUTHORITY TO INCREASE ITS RATES ) AND CHARGES FOR ELECTRIC AND ) ORDER NO. 37113 NATURAL GAS SERVICE TO ELECTRIC ) AND NATURAL GAS CUSTOMERS IN THE ) STATE OF IDAHO ) On January 31,2025,Avista Corporation("Company")applied to the Idaho Public Utilities Commission ("Commission") requesting authorization to increase its rates for both Electric and Natural Gas service ("Application"). The Company requested a Two-Year Rate Plan with a Rate Year 1 effective date of September 1,2025, and a Rate Year 2 effective date of September 1,2026. On June 9, 2025, the Company filed a Stipulation and Settlement("Proposed Settlement") signed by all the parties to this case. On August 29, 2025, the Commission issued Order No. 36741 approving the Proposed Settlement as filed. Order No. 36741 approved rate changes effective September 1, 2025, and September 1,2026. On August 29,2025,the Company submitted a compliance filing that included the tariffs approved in Order No. 36741 with an effective date of September 1, 2025, and the Commission approved those tariffs in Order No. 36776. On June 30,2026,the Company submitted a compliance filing that included tariffs with the rate changes approved in Order No. 36741 with an effective date of September 1, 2026. COMMISSION FINDINGS AND DECISION The Commission has jurisdiction over this matter under Idaho Code §§ 61-501, 61-502, and 61-503. The Commission is vested with the power to "supervise and regulate every public utility in the state and to do all things necessary to carry out the spirit and intent of the [Public Utilities Law]."Idaho Code§ 61-501.The Commission is empowered to investigate rates,charges, rules,regulations,practices,and contracts of public utilities and to determine whether they are just, reasonable,preferential,discriminatory,or in violation of any provision of law,and to fix the same by order.Idaho Code §§ 61-502 and 61-503. Having reviewed the record and all submitted filings, the Commission finds that the Company's June 30, 2026, compliance filing conforms with the provisions of Order No. 3 674 1. ORDER NO. 37113 1 ORDER IT IS HEREBY ORDERED that the Company's updated tariffs submitted through the June 30, 2026, compliance filing are approved, effective September 1, 2026. THIS IS A FINAL ORDER. Any person interested in this Order may petition for reconsideration within twenty-one (21) days of the service date upon this Order regarding any matter decided in this Order. Within seven (7) days after any person has petitioned for reconsideration, any other person may cross-petition for reconsideration.Idaho Code § 61-626.
