Why can't we finally start investing more into green energy?When are we going to put gas
behind us? Please meet your Clean Energy goals and allow Big Tech to build their own
infrastructure if they want to go that route.
Please reject Idaho Power's request to construct two new gas plants in southern Idaho.
These gas plants are expensive and risky, with fluctuating and increasing fuel costs into the
future, and are simply not in the public interest.
It is not certain that Idaho Power needs to build these plants as they rely on an uncertain
forecast of energy demands in 2030.
It is unclear Idaho Power can actually operate these gas plants because the pipelines are
full and building new lines is outside of the Company's power to control the timeline or
costs.
Battery storage is more affordable, keeps energy dollars in-state instead of importing gas
supplies, is quick to install, and does not pollute our air. Please put the onus on Big Tech to

Renewable energy with battery storage (especially sodium based) is a far better bet than
these natural gas power plants. The environmental impacts are far less, and won't leave
rate payers exposed to volatile natural gas prices in the future. It's the prudent financial
move, in addition to being the best approach for the climate.

Clearly the energy needs of the world are increasing not only because of data centers, but
because of the increased temperatures around the world resulting in higher than ever use
of air conditioning. The PUC has a chance here to require Idaho power to at least match the
kWhs they get from new gas plants by installing an equal amount of new renewable energy
be it wind or solar or both. Idaho power will not do this on its own, but clearly we are in this
predicament because we have been ignoring climate change for 30+years. A stand needs
to be taken and I hope you will be brave enough to do it.

As an Idaho resident, I am concerned about the rising power but, with the feasibility of
renewable electricity building new gas plants is bad for Idahoans. Fossil fuels are more
expensive to maintain long term and eventually run out. Idaho Power should focus on
encouraging clean energy, and follow its own goals to be carbon neutral rather than caving
to the current political climate and building gas plants.
