Garden Valley. ID 83622 PH. 208 912 4602 Re: GNR-T-25-05 Since ZIPLY bought out FRONTIER in the NW states, I have used their internet and phone service. Over the years as I have had serious problems, I have had conversations with high ranking members oMthe company who have always been very helpIll in their quest to assist me in matters the ZIPLY Customer Service never did. Today I have some serious complaints but beR)re I get to them, I must be 111ir and paint a picture that is accurate to both sides oDa complaint, I would state here. I live in the mountains oMIdaho. In regard to Ziply I am aware nothing in their technical abilities is going to change when we have internet signal coming through a phone wire. About ten years ago fiber optic cable was laid down along the one and only paved road where I live. The cable was laid into a valley which ran north. On either side o0the valley are mountains with people living up those hills. Done takes a tell or a right off the road, you are going up hill and into rugged areas and Crest. This observation means when a signal comes off fiber optic, assuming it does at all, it then hits what the industry calls COPPER WIRE. That tech is never going to change as it is physically impossible to bring modern tech into these mountains. With Fred Flintstone tech, we have much slower speeds oDinM)rmation travel. Ziply alleges keeping the copper wire is more time consuming thus more money is burned and our monthly%es are astronomical. My complaint stems 2rom the excessive Cues I pay Ziply. Recently I turned off my land line phone because a phone and internet was costing me about 140 each month. With the phone shut off, I am being charged over 90 dollars per month Cr internet only. This makes me angry when every day o0my liC I see Ziply commercials on TV where they advertise Ziply internet service is 35 dollars per month. Since I pay three times that 1 amount, I[be[ like I am being taken advantage o0 As a G)rmer investigator, I see things that my brain causes me to believe nothing is adding up to being treated appropriately by Ziply in what I am going to reveal. Ziply admits they are trying to get away aom COPPER WIRE.Well with that admission the obvious is, they want to dump the people who currently use Ziply. A couple o0months ago my internet just stopped working. This happens often. Because we Live in the mountains,we are used to services being interrupted and expect such things. But on this occasion when I complained my internet was out, I was given a ten day time period bel)re Ziply alleged a service repair guy would be out to my house. TEN DAYS. This has always been typical C)r Ziply where we see long periods o0time ben)re anyone fixes a problem. Here is my personal problem. I live in a county that has a high population oyretired people. Our Sheriff's Office as an example has a county takes two and a halmhours to drive across i0 one is going the speed limits and only six guys patrolling that area. IDyou callM)r an emergency problem, they may come in twenty minutes or so, or it may be hours. We who Live here do not[butt anyone C)r that. This is what it is like to live in the mountains. We would not trade it C)r Boise. But it can get scary sometimes because you can get into trouble here that can kill you. You have to have your wits about when living here. I once was cutting wood and Calling trees with a chain saw thirty miles aom the nearest paved road. I Cell off a high place and when I Landed I cut open my left hand pretty good. In that moment, rather than drive over an hour back out oYthe Crest and another hour and a haLMto any medical service, I sewed up my own hand with a suture kit, wrapped my hand up and put my gloves on and went back to work. The point is, we have to know how to be careRil here or we could die. Here is what is not careCil. I have zero cell signal at my home. For a phone to work, my internet has to work. I use the WiFi to allow my calls to go through. When internet goes out, I have zero ability to call anyone Cyr an emergency. When I was given a ten day period beM)re anyone was going to come to fix my problem, I was being told I am totally cut off[Yom the world. I cannot communicate with anyone C)r emergency C)r ten days. I mentioned retired C)lks C)r a reason. I am one such person. I am 71 years old. In this time period I was going through some medical things that were liC3 threatening. That is not the Cbult oOZiply. Telling me they won't fix my service C)r ten days is their[butt. Having no 2 internet R)r ten days means zero communication G)r that time period which puts my lilt at risk. And that I pay three times more than anyone else is an abomination. Knowing Ziply is trying to be rid oMCOPPER WIRE service which equates to being rid o0the people means some serious problems C)r those who live here. While other mrms o0tech exist that do not use Copper Wire, they cost big money to get it in the house. You have to buy equipment outright R)r hundreds o0dollars. In today's world, that is not working. I should not be preaching anything to the reader about living paycheck to paycheck. I have a handsome income in this house. What I have is being totally ripped off at the gas pumps with decades old lies which is impacting ourd)od supply in prices. We don't have hundreds oMdollars to switch to a new company because our current provider Ziply is trying to get rid opus. Ziply has always had a crew o0trucks DAILY in my valley tending to problems.Their sole job is to tend to this area and others. These men are paid hourly R)r their work. WHAT they are doing each day is not relevant to my 90 dollar internet bill. In other words, it might take more work to maintain a copper wire system than fiber optic, but these men are in this valley every day earning the same thing every day. EVERY week their paycheck is the same. So why each month do myRes go up?Ziply IS NOT paying out more money to maintain our service. They are paying out the same monies each month. So explain the constant increases to the point I am paying THREE TIMES what Ziply advertises on TV. My take is the increases are an attempt to get the people to switch companies so they can leave the area they don't want to be in. I would say being told we will see you in ten days to fix your problem is another tactic which BULLIES us into switching when I don't know anyone who has extra money R)r anything in today's world. What I am experiencing is a purposemL %rethought oOZiply trying to manipulate people to leave their service so they wrongly increase ONLY OUR service while everyone else gets internet at 35 a month according to their daily TV ads. All o0this rhetoric was laid out so one could see Ziply threatens my literal lilt with these tactics onabnormal waits 11)r service repair which no other company on earth does. People are being played like pawns G)r money as Ziply over charges people when they claim they spend more money to MAINTAIN. Their people who service repair get paid the same every week regardless o0how hard it is to maintain. They are ALWAYS in this valley everyday and have been G)r years. In those years I once paid 80 dollars C)r internet and phone. At the end, I was paying 140 dollars. Where is their damages that my costs went so high? I see greedy people manipulating innocent people to meet their agenda they are trying to control. Their practices threaten lives oMyoung children C)r lack oDemergency service and they absolutely threaten the lives oMseniors who may need more attention than younger C)lks. To turn off 3 service Pbr days when servicemen Glom Ziply walk this valley everyday is not normal and does not add up. The people o0this community are being manipulated by Ziply Fiber to their detriment so Ziply can work their company agenda. 4
