Subject: Fwd: CDS Stoneridge Utilities' application to increase rates
Adam,
I would like to comment on the proposed rate increase from CDS Stoneridge Utilities case
number SWS-W-25-02. Understanding that their golf course will no longer be purchasing
water, I question the significant increase due to stated loss of revenue.Although revenue
will decrease so will expenses due to less water being used through the system. I
understand the importance of keeping our drinking water safe and the system up to date,
but I am concerned that the quality of our drinking water will not necessarily improve by
this rate increase. What I would like to know is the commitment and plan to flush water
Lines and improve water quality with the least amount of chemical treatment to ensure safe
drinking water. I would like to also hear CDS's plan for water conservation going into a very
dry spring and summer.
Best Regards,

Good morning,
CASE#SWS-W-25-02
My rebuttal comments to the rate increase appear below:
Seems the utility owner is trying"to get well" by increasing rates frequently. By this I mean
improvements that were made years ago. This is a poor business practice that shouldn't
place the burden on rate payers years after the fact. As rates were increased 20 percent
1
Last year, the proposed increase would balloon rates by over 57.6%. This is unacceptable
and should not stand. Thank you for your attention to this matter.
