REQUEST:
In AVU-E-15-05, the Company estimated Noxon Switchyard Rebuild expenditures of $0.5 million for 2016. This project now has 2016 expenditures listed at $11.5 million. Please provide a detailed explanation of these costs, particularly the difference between last year’s estimate and the current estimate.
RESPONSE:
The Noxon Switchyard Rebuild was estimated to transfer to plant approximately $9.9 million in 2015 for work that was scheduled to complete and energize prior to the end of the year. Construction delays (e.g. work stoppage due to fires) pushed the energization date to March of 2016. Therefore, this is a shift in transfers from 2015 to 2016 and an acceleration of $1 million in transfers from 2017 to 2016. See the table below for details.
