NEWS RELEASE: Commission schedules customer hearing to take testimony on northern Idaho
water utility's application to increase rates.
BOISE (April 20,2026)—The Idaho Public Utilities Commission has scheduled a customer
hearing in May to take testimony on an application submitted by CDS Stoneridge Utilities, LLC
to increase the rates it charges to provide service.
CDS Stoneridge is seeking Commission approval to raise overall revenues by 43 percent. The
utility said the increase is needed to address system deficiencies identified in a Department of
Environmental Quality Sanitary Survey and recover lost revenue after one of its customers, the
Stoneridge Golf Course, built its own well and stopped buying water from the utility. CDS
Stoneridge is proposing to raise revenues by increasing monthly minimum customer charges
based on meter size ranging from 3/4"to 6.0".
The information below illustrates how much monthly charges will increase if the utility's
application is approved as filed.
Meter Size Currently Monthly Minimum Proposed Monthly Minimum
3/4" $28.85 $39.70
1" $28.85 $39.70
1.5" $115.50 $158.80
2.0" $205.50 $282.26
2.5" $320.75 $441.06
3.0" $462.00 $635.19
4.0" $821.25 $1,129.05
6.0" $1,847.50 $2,540.76
The customer hearing will be Wednesday, May 20, 2026, at the Blanchard Community Center,
685 Rusho Lane, Blanchard, ID 83804. The hearing will begin at 5:00 p.m. (PDT) and conclude
at 8:00 p.m. or after all customer testimony has been taken, whichever comes first. Customer
testimony will be taken from both in-person attendees and callers, beginning with those present
at the hearing. Customers who want to submit testimony remotely or listen to the hearing can call
1-208-985-2810 and enter conference number 491 690 998#when prompted.
