Comment: "Dear Idaho Public Utilities Commissioners, Regarding our Idaho Public Utility
Commission's consideration of an Idaho Power utility requested Power Cost Adjustment
for fixed costs, I am submitting my request for denial to increase residential power rates
from a second annual adjustment. Power Cost Adjustment (PCA) increases should be born
by the corporations requiring the expansion of Idaho Power infrastructure.
The Idaho Legislature has already favored large corporations, Micron as an example, with
generous property tax breaks. If residential Idaho Power customers are required to
shoulder increased electricity rates in addition to corporate property tax breaks, this
represents additional unfair and onerous Corporate subsidies. Data Center proliferation in
an arid and low population State like Idaho unfairly burdens residential rate payers, in favor
of subsidizing profitable corporations who may employ few full time employees, and
consume vast amounts of energy and water."
I oppose raising Power Cost Adjustment increases for Idaho Power residential rate payers.
