CAP-W-25-02 CORPORATION'S APPLICATION FOR ) AUTHORITY TO INCREASE ITS RATES ) ORDER NO. 36980 AND CHARGES FOR WATER SERVICE IN ) THE STATE OF IDAHO ) On August 14, 2025, Capitol Water Corporation, ("Company") filed an application ("Application")with the Idaho Public Utilities Commission("Commission")requesting authority to increase rates and charges for water service in the State of Idaho. On February 26, 2026, the Commission issued Order No. 36948, authorizing a 4.4% increase to the Company's base tariff rates for water service based on an $859,867 revenue requirement. The Commission directed the Company to submit tariffs in compliance with the rates and charges approved in Order No. 36948 within 30 days of the Order. On March 4, 2026, the Company filed tariffs reflecting the rates approved in Order No. 36948. At the Commission's Decision Meeting on March 17, 2026, Commission Staff presented a Decision Memo indicating that it had reviewed the compliance filing and verified that the updated tariffs were consistent with Order No. 36948. The Commission now issues this Order approving the updated tariffs contained in the Company's compliance filing. COMMISSION FINDINGS AND DECISION The Commission has jurisdiction over the Company's Application and the issues in this case under Title 61 of the Idaho Code including Idaho Code §§ 61-301 through 303. The Commission is empowered to investigate rates, charges,rules,regulations,practices, and contracts of all public utilities and to determine whether they are just, reasonable, preferential, discriminatory, or in violation of any provisions of law, and to fix the same by order.Idaho Code §§ 61-501 through 503. Having reviewed the record and the Company's compliance filing, the Commission finds that the Company has complied with Order No. 36948. ORDER NO. 36980 1 ORDER IT IS HEREBY ORDERED that the Company's compliance filing is accepted. The Company's tariffs and schedules filed on March 4, 2026, are approved as filed, with an effective date of February 26, 2026. THIS IS A FINAL ORDER. Any person interested in this Order may petition for reconsideration within twenty-one (21) days of the service date upon this Order regarding any matter decided in this Order. Within seven (7) days after any person has petitioned for reconsideration, any other person may cross-petition for reconsideration.Idaho Code § 61-626.
