Comment: "Please deny Avista the 7.7% increase they plan to impose on their customers.
They already raised our rates in 2026 and we should not be penalized because they
underestimated the increase.
My wife and I are on a fixed Social Security income which increases annually at less than
3%, which is determined by the government.
If Avista is in need of a yearly price increase perhaps it should be commensurate with the
government's own assessment of the cost of living increase!
If in fact Avista underestimated their costs in their previously requested (and granted)
increase then perhaps new management is in order. And selling to Canada's Power One is
certainly not the answer, either.
They need to learn, along with other businesses, to keep their costs in line and cut costs
when needed! Not to gouge the people by raiding the public trough!"

programs, then reduce the incentives and/or rebates.

I donll need to pay for someone@ energy upgrade with 7.4% higher rate. As I recall Avista
received a7% increase last year also, when they applied for 14% increase. "
