Comment: "I am writing to oppose the proposed rate increases by Avista. Upon reading
their application, it is clear that this decision is being made to recuperate losses from the
business decisions they've made. Yet they are offloading the burden on to the consumers.
While I find this to be problematic in general, it is worsened by the fact that they have a
monopoly on power in my own and the surrounding communities. There is no other
company for people to turn to if they can not afford these new rates.With the cost of living
already on the rise, I plead you to think of your constituents that will be impacted by this.
