Subject: Raft River Electric Wildfire Mitigation Plan
Dear Recipient:
Raft River Rural Electric Co-op Inc. filed its Wildfire Mitigation Plan (WMP) with the Idaho Public Utilities
Commission (IPUC) on January 29, 2026, in accordance with Idaho Code Title 61, Chapter 18 (Wildfire
Standard of Care Act) and IPUC Order No. 36774.
The purpose of RREC's WMP is to guide wildfire mitigation strategies and reduce wildfire risk. RREC is
focused to enhance the lives of our members and communities by providing safe, reliable, cost-effective energy
and exceptional member service.
RREC's WMP is built around the following key components:
• Geographical Risk Assessment: A risk- informed approach that considers wildfire probability and
consequence to identify areas that may be subject to potential heightened wildfire risk where Idaho
Power has infrastructure or equipment.
• Mitigation Approach: A risk-informed cost and benefit balancing approach to select and prioritize wildfire
mitigations carried out to reduce wildfire risk, such as:
o Situational awareness capabilities
o Workforce preparedness
o Operational practices, including enhanced protection settings
o Asset management and inspection programs
o System hardening and other line design strategies
o Vegetation management around electric infrastructure
o Additional preventative actions and programs
o Customer and stakeholder communication and outreach
• Performance Monitoring: RREC monitors program performance and compliance.
How to Participate:
Raft River Rural Electric Co-op Inc.'s WMP is available for public review and has been presented to IPUC.
