Subject: Case no. sws-w-25-02
I Live in Blanchard Idaho, and there is a proposal to raise our water rates by an extreme
amount. I would ask you Please reject this proposal for it would really make it difficult to
keep our yard watered and therefore cause a fire hazard for my property and our neighbors.
Thankyou.

Re:Water Rate Case: SWSW2502
In response to the request for rate increase, please do not approve any rate increase. The
increase last year, which you approved was supported by the utility with the same
`justification' points. Namely:
• `the Golf Course irrigation revenue was lost due to the new well that was installed'
o On the contrary—not only did the perceived revenue not decrease, it actually
increased, as the second well no longer requires the same level of
`treatment'or`pretreatment'as it is not required for purely irrigation vs
drinking quality, thereby saving the utility significant costs.
• `We need a back up generator'
o This was the same justification presented last year, the rate was increased—
where did that generator go? Did the utility not do as it stated it would do
with an approved rate increase?
• "Professional Cleaning'costs
o This is standard Business As Usual operating costs and not an `unusual'cost,
or at least it should be included in standard business practices with
identified cycle times.
This request for a water rate increase is too much and too soon. No increase should be
approved by IPUC at this time.
Thankyou
