Comment: " "We wish to state our concerns regarding the CDS Stoneridge Utilities
requesting another 38% increase in our water rates. They were just granted a large increase
that was allowed by the IPUC and now they are requesting another increase on top of the
one they have just received? Their justification is that they lost revenue when the golf
course quit purchasing water from CDS Stoneridge because they drilled a new well. The
facts are that both the golf course and CDS Stoneridge Utilities are owned by Mr. Chan
Karupiah and he has not lost any money. We are on fixed incomes and Mr. Karupiah wants
us to pay the bill for his business decision to put a well on the golf course. We don't believe
that we should have to suffer the costs for the golf course putting in their new well. Mr.
Karupiah may show a loss in his records for CDS Stoneridge Utilities, but he is saving
money in his other company, the Stoneridge Golf Course, to try and increase our water
rates. We believe this is unfair and ask the IPUC to deny Mr. Karupiah's request for the
increase.
