Comment: "I'm writing to voice my concern regarding the water rate increase that I received
in the mail. The notice increased my rates from $57 per month to $62. Based on the
information provided to me by my HOA, this increase does not appear legal, as the water
company has not sought the appropriate approvals to increase these rates. Based on the
investigation and findings of this case MWL-W-25-01, the water company has been
instructed to seek approval for any rate increases through the Public Utilities Commission.
It is my understanding that this approval has not been granted. Furthermore, I would like to
bring to the Commission's attention that Meadows Water LLC has continued to be
negligent regarding the investigation by the Department of Environmental Quality(DEQ)
that has resulted in warnings, citations, and fines being issued against them by DEQ. I am
requesting that the Commission keep this information in mind should the company request
an increase to our rates. The company should be held accountable for installing the
necessary backup generators so that our drinking water is not put in danger every time the
power goes out. "
