BOISE (Jan. 2, 2026)—A water utility that serves customers in the Blanchard, Idaho, area has submitted an application to the Idaho Public Utilities Commission seeking approval to increase the rates it charges to provide service. CDS Stoneridge Utilities, LLC is seeking approval to raise overall revenues by 43 percent. It said the increase is needed to address system deficiencies identified in a Department of Environmental Quality sanitary survey. The utility also said the Stoneridge Golf Course, which accounted for nearly 40 percent of the water purchased from the company, built its own well and no longer buys water from the utility. It said rates need to be adjusted to account for the lost revenue and continue to service existing obligations. CDS Stoneridge is proposing to raise revenues by increasing monthly customer charges based on meter size ranging from 3/4"to 6.0". Commission staff will work with the utility to gather information and create a record that, once completed, will be given to the Commission for its review and a decision. The Commission can approve, deny or modify proposed rate changes. Additional information is available at: puc.idaho.gov/case/Details/7662.
