BOISE (Nov. 7, 2025)—The Idaho Public Utilities Commission has scheduled a workshop, customer hearing and set a written comments deadline for an application submitted by Capitol Water Corporation to increase the rates it charges to provide service to customers. The utility is seeking to increase rates by 6.004 percent. If the application is approved as filed, flat-rate customers with a 3/4 inch service line will see an increase of$2.05 per month for the months of May through September, and an increase of$0.90 for all other months in the year. Flat-rate customers with lines larger than 3/4 of an inch would receive a corresponding increase in current rates of 6.004 percent. Metered customers will see an increase in the minimum charge of 6.004 percent and an increase in the tiered commodity charges of 6.004 percent. The utility serves 2,536 residential and 276 commercial customers in Boise. Commission staff will hold an online workshop on Thursday, Dec. 11, to present an overview of Capitol Water's application and answer questions. The workshop will begin at 6:00 p.m. (MST) and conclude at 9:00 p.m. or after all customer questions have been answered, whichever comes first. Chinden Blvd., Building 8, Suite 201-A, Boise, ID 83714. The Commission is accepting written comments on Capitol Water's application until Thursday, Jan. 15, 2026. Comments are required to be filed through the Commission's website or by e-mail unless computer access is not available.
