A 3% raise in costs should not be a burden on those with a fixed income. Some companies are nice enough to give at least a 3% raise, so the cost should not be a burden on most working people. Most governments and nonprofits budget for a 3% raise in expenses and benefit payments. The cost of living in Idaho has increased so much in the last few years. Many cities are increasing their utilities as well. So, Idaho Power should be more reasonable about electricity raises:' ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 1 Name:jackie beshur Submission Time: Nov 20 2025 7:07PM Email: TryForgiveness@yahoo.com Telephone: 208-350-3229 Address: 17058 n lyonsdale pl nampa, ID 83687 Name of Utility Company: Idaho Power Case ID: IPC-E-25-16 Comment: "I work diigently to keep a low power bill. This is absolutely ridiculous. We the people are being hit with costs due to growth. In Star, we are asked to fund the new fire station that was built. Now we are asked to pay for more electricity due to the data center. Growth must pay for growth. I'm 70 years old and of course on a limited income. My social security does not increase as fast as what I'm being asked to pay out. The data center must pay for what they need/use. Please help us old folks! That is a 400% increase. When does it stop?At this rate, we'll be at$125/month in 2030. Only you can stop this. Idaho Power is a monopoly; we can't get power from anyone else. The proposal is for us to pay more monthly to pay more for power. It is a gross injustice. We all know this is because BlackRock and Vanguard own a big portion of IdaCorp which owns Idaho Power. Let's not act like they are hurting for money when the CEO is getting over$6 million in bonuses because they are finding creative ways to rob the common resident. People are bleeding money left and right for taxes and utilities; don't let Idaho Power rob them even more. If they really need the money this badly, they can cut some from the executives' bonuses. If a company doesn't have money to operate, they don't raise prices and give bonuses; they make cuts and budget better. I've lived in Idaho for over 40 years outside of military service, and Idaho Power has always been fair. Only in the last 5-10 years has it surged to greedy levels of unreasonableness. Put a stop to the money grab. Put a stop to the 66% increase in fees and 10% increase in rates:' ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Name: Danny Briggs Submission Time: Nov 20 2025 8:17PM Email: briggs_danny82@yahoo.com Telephone: 951-314-7862 Address: 1719 s Rushmore place Boise, ID 83709 Name of Utility Company: Idaho power Case ID: IPC-E-25-16 Comment: "I am opposed to the 66% increase in monthlyfees And 10% increase in usage cost. I am opposed to the 66% increase in monthly fees And 10% increase in usage cost. I am opposed to raising the monthly fee to $25 and the monthly cost per kilowatt by 10%. The intent for people to pursue an alternate power source to lessen their monthly cost on top of an expensive cost of living only to be later penalized for doing such is not only unethical but it's ludicrous. This will be a drain on Idaho's electricity and water supplies. I do not want to see my electric rates increase while my access to available water and electric will decrease. We so often have drought-like situations which make it difficult for farmers and ranchers and this would be made even more difficult for them if resources are used up by an Al Data Center. " ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ From:Ayla Drake <dianadra2@gmail.com> Sent: Sunday, November 23, 2025 9:56 AM To: secretary<secretary@puc.idaho.gov> Subject: Idaho Power Recent Request for Rate Increase From:Diana Drake Dear Public Utilities Commission: Below is the letter I sent Idaho Power. I sent it because they have filed for another rate increase because of costs of growth. Aren't they receiving a lot more money from the growth? Aren't developers paying to install utilities? The letter below outlines how they 6 brow beat customers to sign up for electronic tilling but yet still send out color glossy Letters outlining how customers need to do better at conserving electricity. I keep my thermostat down, turn off lights when not in use and wear sweaters around the house but yet, Idaho Power still scolds me for my usage. The letter is as follows: Attention Idaho Power Headquarters: I am sending this complaint to you as a courtesy because I also sent it to the Idaho Public Utilities Commission in regards to you current request to increase power rates. You company hounded me to discontinue paper billings and have them sent electronically. I finally gave in and signed up for electronic billing. However, it is so annoying that Idaho Power can spend so much money on color glossy mailers and send them though the mail to their customers basically scolding them for their power usage. Everytime I receive a mailer, it infuriates me because Idaho Powerwhined about how much it was much better for the environment to stop printing paper bills and that it cost so much to send paper. In other words, you have no problem spending money on what you want regardless what the customer wants. If you would discontinue spending money on generating and sending out flyers, maybe you wouldn't need so many rate increases. From your own words, mail is too costly, but somehow you justify the expense to satisfy your agenda. Thank you for your time. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ The following comment was submitted via PUCWeb: Name: Joseph Astle Submission Time: Nov 23 2025 7:31 PM Email: astle05@aol.com Telephone: 208-220-1647 Address: 157EWilliamsSt Boise, ID 83706 Name of Utility Company: Idaho Power Case ID: IPC-E-25-16 Comment: "The propoaed rate increase from Idaho Power is not in the benefitted interest of Idaho citizens. I am opposed to the utilities rate increase on individual consumers. The substantial energy needs of businesses is where the rate increase should be placed. The individual idaho customer shouldn't be penalized for the needs of business. Stop the rate hike.
