M. COMMISSIONER KJELLANDER: We11, good evenj-ng. This j-s the time and place for a telephonic hearing in Case Nos. IPC-E-15-01, AVU-E-15-01, PAC-E-15-03. My name is Paul Kjellander. I am the Chairman of this evening's telephonic public hearing. To my l-eft, which you can't see on the telephone, is Commi-ssioner Kristine Raper. Commissioner Mack Redford is excused from these proceedings and wil-I have an opportunit.y to review the record once it's final-ly submitted to the Commission as we head towards deliberation. The purpose of tonightrs hearing is to take testimony from the public regarding this case. This is an opportunity for members of the public to get their statement entered in the record to ul-timately assist the Commission in its del-iberative process. As further background, the Commission serves in a similar capacity as a District Court and we generally fol-Iow District Court ru1es. We're here this evening to help create a fu1ly developed record. We are not here today to pass judgment on comments or statements made for the official record. The Commission will not begin to deliberate on the merits of this case until the offlcial record i-s closed. Additionally, the Commission, like judges, only speaks through its Orders as it relates to final rulings in this matter. Tonight's hearing, as I mentioned, is a telephonic hearing. AIl cal-l-ers will- be placed on mute, but you'Il still be abl-e to l-isten to the hearing. Al-1 calls wil-l be taken in the order in which they came in. When it's your turn to testify, you'Il hear a prompt that says your line is now unmuted. You will- then be asked by our Staff attorney to state your name and address after which you will be able to present your testimony to the Commissioners. There is a court reporter here who will- take down your testimony. After you testify, you will again be muted, but you wj-11 stil-I be able to listen to the rest of the hearing. If when your line is unmuted and you decide not to testify, just say pass and werll move on to the next caller. At present, there are no callers on the l-lne. We hope that there wil-l- be some. If so, we would be happy to get that on the record. Otherwise, we will go off the record until such time as we have a cal-ler. At approximately 15 minutes past the hour of 7:00 o'cIock, which is now roughly 10 minutes away, if we have no cal-Iersr w€ wiII come on and officialty adjourn this proceeding, so with that said, we are officially off the record. Officially for the record, we opened up the hearing at about a minute past the top of the hour, but we haven't had any cal-l-ers who were on the l-ine to testify. We do recognize that the telephone bridge does work as we had a call-er who's a member of the parties join us during our recess to just l-et us know that it works. One of the things that we intend to do as a Commission is to further investigate the use of telephonic hearings and al-so perhaps investigating the opportunity to deploy our own system so we have more 1030 COLLOQUY 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 !4 15 76 77 18 19 20 27 22 23 24 25 CSB REPORTING (208 ) 890-s198 control of thatr ds well as any messages that may be associated with the initial- access to the prompts that might be on that system, sor agaJ-n, we certainly are not abandoning our desire to look at telephonic hearing as a piece of our process, but also recognize that tonight we did not have any participants and wiII continue to explore the value of telephonj-c hearing, as well as the opportunity to control our own system and perhaps our own messages that may be there when people call in. Viith that said, we will conclude this telephonic hearing and officially, then, this portion of the proceeding is closed as far as the record is concerned. We gave until- July 10th for partl-es to the case to get in their requests for intervenor fundj-ng, and we mentioned today during our public hearing that it is our hope, to the extent that we can and the record is officially finalized and fu1ly presented to the Commission, that we can begin deliberation and perhaps have a final Order out in this case by the end of ,Ju1y, so wlth that, thj-s telephonic hearing is concluded.
