The Facebook data center is a blight on our state. It doesn't create a meaningful amount of jobs. It uses more water and energy then most of us combined. This is corporate welfare and greed. The PUC (profiting under corruption) don't care about working people at all. Just give them their cut. Data Centers start moving into all areas around our country absorbing our power, causing brown outs, and causing our rates to soar that it's a county or city zoning& planning issue? I doubt the community has even the slightest knowledge of what is about to take place. The growth of Al is expected to cause an astronomical increase in demand for energy and competition for land with access to utilities in the US. The effects on our grid is going to be astronomical, not even beginning to talk about there need for water consumption. We need to demand that all or any of these A.I. data centers that will be built, build there own substation and stop taking power from the little people:' -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1 The following comment was submitted via PUCWeb: Name: Laurie Popel Submission Time: Nov 1 2025 2:42PM Email: Lau riepopeL(a)gmaiLcom Telephone: 208-407-1367 Address: 4151 w Cherrytree ct Meridian , ID 83642 Name of Utility Company: Idaho Power Case ID: LLL-E-25-16 Comment: "The cost increases are going to bury senior citizens and all of us that are struggling. Also, why are we paying for Al data centers use? This is complete BS.We are sick of getting screwed by the 1%. The Al, Developers and commercial users should pay their share. The bulk of the energy is going to them.. Existing residential customers are being ask to subsidize all of these new developments and additional expansion cost for Idaho Power." ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The following comment was submitted via PUCWeb: Name: Madeline Schnapp Submission Time: Nov 3 2025 11:10AM Email: madeline.schnaRpPgmaii.com Telephone: 707-280-8989 Address: 3657 W Angelica Dr Meridiabn, ID 83646 2 Name of Utility Company: Idaho Power Company Case ID: IPC-E-25-16 Comment: "November 3, 2025 Comments Re: IPC-E-25-16-Application to increase rates and charges for electric service in the State of Idaho To Whom it may concern; By any definition, Idaho Power's proposed electricity rate increase of 17.35%for residential customers on top of a proposed 66% increase in the residential service charge is unjust and unreasonable. These proposed increases would amount to a large increase in monthly electricity bills. The increase for average homeowners is more than 6 times higher than the stated US Consumer Price Index inflation rate of 3.0%for 2025. According to Title 61, Idaho's Public Utility Regulation, Chapter 3, section 61-301 states the following: "61-301. CHARGES JUST AND REASONABLE. All charges made, demanded or received by any public utility, or by any two (2) or more public utilities, for any product or commodity furnished or to be furnished or any service rendered or to be rendered shall be just and reasonable. Every unjust or unreasonable charge made, demanded or received for such product or commodity or service is hereby prohibited and declared unlawful." Therefore, according to my reading of the law, an unjust or unreasonable increase is "prohibited and declared unlawful". How can Idaho Power justify such a massive rate increase on the backs of local residents who are in effect subsidizing the electricity consumption of huge consumers of electricity which are in some cases gigantic publicly traded companies that provide products and services to hundreds of millions of consumers around the globe. Shouldn't these large companies and their global customers be shouldering more of the costs? Idaho Power has not done an adequate job of explaining and justifying why they need such an enormous increase in our residential electricity rates when the rates for"large general services"and "large power"are only going up 7.26% and 8.22%, respectively. Idaho Rover has asked for another rate increase and they seem to be doing this every year. The areas that the company serves in both states are poor and have many senior citizens and low income residents and these rate increases are very hard on us. The company knows that they have a monopoly on electricity services so they feel free to continually seek exorbitant rate increases. Tease see what you can do to prevent the most recent request of this company. Thank you for your service and assistance. Sincerely, 'ev ew -;: o ._. Julie D.
