NEWS RELEASE: Commission schedules customer hearing, technical hearing and sets written
comments deadline for natural gas utility's application to increase rates.
BOISE (Oct. 30, 2025)—The Idaho Public Utilities Commission has scheduled a customer
hearing, technical hearing and set a written comments deadline for an Intermountain Gas
application to increase the rates it charges to provide natural gas service to customers.
The utility initially applied for Commission approval to increase the average residential
customer's monthly bill by 11.46 percent, or $4.69. It also asked for approval to increase the
monthly bill for general service customers by 5.16 percent, or $9.26. Intermountain Gas said
operation and maintenance costs have increased by an average of 5.3 percent since the utility's
last rate case, and that it made investments in infrastructure.
As the case was developed,parties reached a proposed settlement that will be reviewed by the
Commission. If the proposed settlement is approved as filed, the average residential customer's
bill will increase by $2.45 per month, or 6.02 percent. The average general service customer's
bill will increase by $4.42, or 2.46 percent. In addition, residential customers will see a monthly
charge of$11.00, an increase of$3.00. General service customers will see a monthly charge of
$23.00, an increase of$8.00.
The customer hearing will be held Thursday,Nov. 13, 2025. It will begin at 4:30 p.m. (MST)
and conclude at 7:30 p.m. or after all testimony has been taken, whichever comes first. The
Commission may adjust the scheduled time as necessary. The hearing will be held at the
Commission's office, 11331 W. Chinden Blvd., Building 8, Suite 201-A, Boise, ID 83714.

The technical hearing will be held Tuesday,Nov. 18, 2025, and continue on Wednesday,Nov.
19, 2025, if needed. Technical hearings are held when a utility's application may be more
significant to customers or present complex issues. Parties to a case cross examine witnesses and
submit testimony during the hearings.
The hearing will begin at 9:00 a.m. (MST) and conclude at 5:00 p.m. both days. It will be held at
the Commission's office, 11331 W. Chinden Blvd., Building 8, Suite 201-A, Boise, ID 83714.
