SUBJECT: IN THE MATTER OF THE NOTICE OF CORPORATE NAME CHANGE
OF TRACFONE WIRELESS, INC. TO VERIZON VALUE, INC. D/B/A
TRACFONE AND THE RESULTING NAME CHANGE ON THE
ELIGIBLE TELECOMMUNICATIONS CARRIER (ETC) STATUS; CASE
NO. TFW-T-25-01.
On June 10, 2025, TracFone Wireless, Inc. ("Company") submitted a request to the Idaho
Public Utilities Commission ("Commission") to change its name to Verizon Value, Inc. d/b/a
TracFone. The Company is requesting that the Commission update its records and eligible
telecommunications carrier("ETC") designation to reflect the name change.
STAFF ANALYSIS
In the filing submitted on June 10, 2025, the Company requested that the Commission
update its records to reflect its name change. In the filing, the Company states that its "new name
has been registered with the Washington Secretary of State's Office." Application at 1. The
documents included with the filing all referenced Idaho, not Washington. Staff propounded a
Production Request to determine if the inclusion of Washington was an error. The Company's
response stated that the use of Washington was a typographical error that should have stated"Idaho
Secretary of State's Office." Response at 1. In the filing the Company provided the certificates
from the Secretary of State of Idaho that indicated the name change.
Additionally, the Company is requesting that the ETC designation reflects the new name.
The Company was designated an ETC in 2012 pursuant to Order No. 32586.

RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends that the Commission approve the Company's name change in the
Commission's records and on the ETC designation.
