Comment: "After filing this case with the Idaho Public Utility Commission in March 2025, 1
have continued to have poor land line telephone service from Ziply Fiber in my Northern
Idaho home. Numerous technicians have a been sent up, by the company, to troubleshoot
the bad reception and dropped calls that are we are experiancing on our phone. Our
neighbors, who live on Trestle Creek Rd, have the same issues with Ziply's phone service
and this has been going on a very long time.Their technicians inform us that the problems
is happening because of old and outdated equipment that had been installed up our road
years ago, They can't even access replacement parts for this system any longer. The
solution is for Ziply Fiber to install new cabling and equipment to the line running up our
road, which they will not and have no plans to do so. The rates they are charging for this
inferior service are outragous and they informed us that they were going up to $107.00 per
month last April. I called and protested the rate hike and they offered to reduce my then
current rate by$20.00 per month for a 3 month period, which they did but made no
commitment to fixing the equipment problem up our road. This morning I called them
because they have dropped the discount I was getting and now the rate has returned to
$80.80 per month and they say there is nothing they can do to further reduce my rate again.
I was on a recorded line and I invite the State of Idaho to request that recorded session
dated 10/23/2025 at approximatley 9:30 am with there agent. I believe the agent actually
empathized with my frustation with Ziply Fiber's service but his hands were tied in
accomplishing my request, which was: "Please leave a permant discount on my account
($60.00 per month)to compensate me for the fact that they refuse do anything to update
my phone service on the road we live on and we are recieving inferior phone service on an
ongoing bases:' Please note that my husband and myself live in a mountainous area away
from town and a land line is nessessary for our safety, as cell service does not work up
here. There are times that I am away from home and my husband is up here alone and
relies on that land line teledphone service in the case of an emergency. Otherwise, I would
certainly get rid of Ziply Fiber's telephone service if I could.
