Comment: "Hello.
I'm writing in regards to Idaho power's proposed service fee raise. They already raised it
from $5 a month to $15 a month in 2023. A direct 200% raise at the time! That in itself is
outrageous. Now they are asking you to raise it another$10 a month! They're also
proposing increases to the kilowatt hour rate. All of this is unbearable for people of low
income and just because you're not low income does not mean that you should be ripped
off. The more customers they get the more money they make. They are constantly getting
more customers as more people move in from other states. They're proposed raise is just a
pay raise and more money in their pockets. This is absolutely terrible and they have no
competition that we can go to.They are running willy-nilly and roughshod over us however
they want and I want you guys to stop them! Please, do not let them have this increase. It
already increased our power bill by$120 a year in 2023 and now that will double to $240 a
year since 2022. It's ridiculous. You guys seem to bend to everything they ask and it makes
a person wonder why you do. They have ended net metering for people with solar panels as
well. If green energy is what their goal really is then, why are they constantly doing stuff like
this that completely discourages people from doing anything green? Please stop them.
Thankyou.

I want to strongly petition the committee to reject the proposed Idaho Power service
charge increase for residential customers from $15 to $25. It is already completely
unreasonable that a simple"service charge"for billing(most of which is paperless these
1
days) is over even $10. The justification is to move"most customers"over to a fixed charge
each month rather than a variable energy charge. This is socialistic and should be denied
by Idaho's PUC regulators. I want my"charges"to be dominated bywhat my USAGE is. We
are already getting treated horriblywith the solar generation buy-back discount approved
for Idaho Power to reap rewards from customers that have installed solar panels without
needing to see additional penalties levied against these users.
Thankyou foryour consideration,
Jeff&Sarah McClain
