RE:POLE ATTACHMENT INVENTORY
Dear Avista Joint Use Partner,
As one of Avista's joint users,we're writing to notify you of a pole attachment inventory project we will launch in 2023.
The project will be implemented in accordance with the terms and conditions of the joint use or pole attachment
agreement executed between your company and Avista. The objective of the project is to obtain a complete inventory
of third-party attachments on Avista-owned poles.
Pole attachment inventories are best practice across the industry and are an important part of prudent asset
management and billing forjoint use services. The results of the inventory may result in adjustments to the total rental
costs for some joint users,which may include back rent that is currently unpaid. Avista will continue to communicate
with its joint users about the scope of these cost adjustments as the inventory progresses and its results are known.
Avista has retained the services of VentureSum Corporation,who has deep experience in this area,to complete the
inventory on the Company's behalf. The inventory will commence early in 2023 with the intent to complete the project
before the end of the year.You might see VentureSum vehicles rolling around as early as Jan.9, 2023.
Since this will be VentureSum's first cycle performing this inventory for Avista,VentureSum will be calling on all third-
party attachers to share a reliable baseline of your operating areas and other information that may be necessary to
support this effort. This information can be shared as shapefiles,design files,autocad,and virtually any other spatial
data resource. Also,if your company has bought,sold,or merged with others in the past five(5)years,please let us
know,as we may ask for documentation related to that activity.
An in-person project kickoff meeting is currently scheduled for Jan. 12,2023 at 9:30 a.m.at Avista Headquarters, 1411 E.
Mission,Spokane,WA 99202.The meeting will also be streamed on MS Teams and may be recorded for those not able
to attend in person.A detailed presentation will be given to inform all stakeholders of the inventory process, how we
will identify your facilities,and the deliverable and settlement process.There will be an open Q&A to address any
questions about the inventory project.Watch for an email with the MS Teams invite,which will be sent to our standard
contact with your company.
