BOISE (Aug. 19, 2025)—The Idaho Public Utilities Commission has scheduled meetings and a written comments deadline for Intermountain Gas Company's application to increase the rates it charges to provide natural gas to customers. Intermountain Gas is seeking Commission approval to increase the average residential customer's monthly bill by 11.46 percent, or $4.69. Intermountain Gas also is seeking approval to increase the monthly bill for commercial customers by 5.16 percent, or $9.26. Intermountain Gas said operation and maintenance costs have increased by an average of 5.3 percent since the utility's last rate case, and it made investments in infrastructure. The Commission can approve, deny or modify the application. Commission Staff will hold an online workshop on Thursday, August 28, to provide an overview of the application and answer customer questions. The workshop will begin at 6:00 p.m. (MDT) and conclude at 9:00 p.m. or after all customer questions have been answered, whichever comes first. A technical hearing will be held on Tuesday,November 18. A technical hearing allows parties to the case to present witnesses, testimony, and exhibits.
