Comment: "We are being stretched too thin. We cannot afford another raise in utility rates.
There is no reasonable cause for this raise.Your upper management should have to take a
freeze on salaryfor a short few years before you raise any rates again.
Thank you for your consideration

Comment: "It has been brought to my attention that Idaho Power is introducing a new
meter charge for the year 2026 as well as increase their rates yet again. We already pay a
ridiculous amount for Power, our meter works just fine. We do not want these additional
charges. The meters should not be the consumers responsibility, as it is not our property.
The rate increase alone has caused many families financial grief as their rates are getting
ridiculously unaffordable. Just recently, our power was reported to have doubled since last
year, changing our monthly payment from $230 to now almost$500. This is near
impossible, as our usage has not changed, and we have made economically efficient
changes in our home that in the year 2023, brought our bill down lower. So what's changed?
Increase after increase. Unneccesary charges after unnecessary charges. The CEO makes
multimillions each year, yet our prices keep increasing. The greed must end. Myself, as well
as many other Idahoans have had enough. "

Comment: "I think the meter rate charge is excessive now it should not be raised. I also
think a 17% rate hike is excessive, and at most 5%, based an economics would be more
appropriate. "

Comment: "I have three Idaho Power Bills for July 8 to August 5, 2025 The first Bill is for
$17.34 of which the Present Service Charge is $15 and $2.34 for all other charges. The
Service Charge is about 85 % of the Current charges and about 6.8 times more than all
other charges H An increase of$10 for the Service Charge to $25 would be about 94% of
the Current Charges and about 10.6 times more than all of the other charges!
The Second Bill is for$15.35, $15 Service Charge and .35cents for all other charges. The
Service Charge is about 97% of the Current Charges and about 42 times more than all
other charges. An increase Service Charge to $25 would make the Service Charge about 71
times more than all other charges!
The third Bill is about 28% Service Charge and increase of Service Charge to$25 would
make the Service charge about 39% of the Current charges.
It states in the General Rate Case (As part of the rate case, Idaho Power is proposing to
increase the residential service charge from $15 to $25. By implementing a higher service
charge, a larger portion of a customers' monthly bill will be collected through a fixed
charge rather than the variable energy charge. The intent is to make fixed cost collection
more equitable among residential customers.) NOT SO!
Fixed cost collection by increasing Service charges only increases fixed costs which if done
in the three cases it would amount in my first bill to over 10 times all the variable costs; in
the second bill to about 42 times all other variable costs; and in my third bill it would
increase the Service Charge from about 28%to 39%. For the first 2 bills the cost of a fixed
Service Charge of$25 is totally unreasonable!!! The $15 service Charge in the 3rd bill now
in place is not very reasonable and should be lowered, not increased.
I believe that the fixed cost Service Charge from $15 to $25 on Residential customers
should be denied! The only way to make it more equitable is to make the fixed Monthly
Service Charge a Variable monthly charge by the amount of electricity used. Less for those
who use less power and more for those who use more power,
The % increase of 17.35%for residential power is over twice as much as each Large
General, and Large Power user. These large % increases over time shifts the burden onto
Residential customers exponentially. The % increase should be more fair. I would deny the
17.35 % increase. It is fair to assume that all that is wanted would make Idaho Power
bigger, and better money wise. The increase in costs on the residential customers by the
fixed Service Charge is not fair. It should be noted however that it would probably increase
Stake holders values in Idaho Power by a probable increase in stock value and increase in
stock dividends at the expense of the Residents of Idaho. That should not be the case!
