I placed LED lighting throughout the home dropping the bill down to around 60.00 a month. Later after to talking to my neighbor and my Father in law(both have RMP) one with the same size home and the other a larger one. Both of them had lower rates than I did. When I called RMP they said each home is rated according to the possible resident occupation. Both of the other homes were rated for 2 while my home was rated for 6 occupants. When I told them I only had 3 she said the rating couldn't changed. Now I'm being charged avgerage of 131.00" -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The following comment was submitted via PUCWeb: Name: Donald Hawkes Submission Time: Aug 1 2025 1:14PM Email: dhawkeszi p(,'q-)gmaiLcom Telephone: 208-244-1222 Address: 3541 E 630 N Menan, ID 83434 Name of Utility Company: Rocky Mountain Power Case ID: PAC-E-25-02 Comment: "Comment#2 1 purchased a solar system of 26 panels for$75,260--a huge investment. RMP encouraged the install with incentives. For instance, how the battery back up would give $400. per KW and lowers our electric rate for years making the investment worth the install. Now they want to take it away. Almost 1,000 home owners invested and installed solar totaling over$65 million. So if they get a lower pay back of.04 per KW, the investment return is gone. I have had conversations with these customers, and I guarantee that many will share what RMP is doing and how the utility company is saying one thing but doing something different and betraying us. That is big time DIRTY. On top of that, they have higher and more rate categories than any other utility. Charges used: Basic,Winter 1&2, Summer 1&2,Energy Cost, Efficiency, Adjustments and Home rating- and if 1 your solar system doesn't cover your usage that month, you are still charged as a regular customer without a solar system. Then they take it out of your previous bank of solar production even if you are Efficient, that is if you have a bank reserve. Now they want to enforce peak rating as well.To me it looks like they are treating us like a business would be charged. It doesn't look like a partnership at all, as I was told:' -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 2
