BOX 70 BOISE.IDAHO 83707 RE:- To whom it may concern: I'm writing a formal complaint against Idaho Power Company for wrongful billing, non-payment disconnection, failed to notify me about a bill transferred to my account. I would like to put a stop on disconnection on my account while this situation is resolved. On May 01, 2024, 1 called Idaho power to start service at my current address. Made the deposit payment of $455.00 My first bill 2 weeks later was $85.75 that was around May 14, 2024, was odd because it wasn't a 30-day billing. Idaho power was stating they interrupted my service May 29.2024 and was charged a fee of $8.50 was added on my bill. I've included a bill history with notes I've made. So around June 2024 1 recall making a payment of $85 with some cents online not sure why it's not showing. In September I was approved for energy assists for 1,220.00. 1 notified Idaho power. Then around late September October service was interrupted I called in agent had stated they had not received wicap's payment but that showed it was approved she then spoke to her supervisor they reconnected my service and added me to the winter protection program she had also stated that it could take up to 10 weeks to show on my account. My calculations I figured I would be ok with my account with the payment wicap had approved and the one payment I had made of $250.00 it wouldn't be so high. I was going thru some financial issues. I didn't receive any statement I thought maybe because of the program. So, in March April I got a bill stating I owed 2,999.17 dollars I called Idaho power the agent stated they never got any payment, and I was never notified from wicap or Idaho power (statements) I checked my email I had nothing. I called wicap they statement that i was approved but wasn't sure why the payment didn't go thru. April 19th, I started to look for assists some agencies did not have any funds then called me Susan from St Luke's has been assisting me with this whole situation, she referred me to some agencies that may help but wasn't getting any luck there was a waiting list or they were out of funds. Late May 2025 my service was interrupted. Susan and I called Idaho Power to discuss the situation we spoke to a gentleman, and he stated that the bill was at 7,270.67 for the reason being is that my ex- spouse had a balance and, in that account, I was listed as a spouse as Brenda Ortiz from. I stated to the agent that I was not the owner of the account I never gave any of my identity to be added on but that I totally understand that the bill needs to be paid. I asked that if he could move that bill off and I could make arrangements for that balance. He told us yes and that if i could send copies of the first page of my 2022 tax year to show proof of identity and to get a medical form to my kids doctor to get power back on, so I emailed in. Not sure what month that was when he was getting energy assists from, but lady from the agency had mentioned that my kids and I were in their system from years back, so they did it under my name since it was easier that way. when I called back to Idaho Power for the medical for one of the supervisors was really rude, aggressively and loud repeating what the gentleman had mentioned to us an hour or so earlier. I asked if she could take that balance off, I could make payments she said NO and that all that balance needs to be paid because after that 30 its going off again and because I have not made no payments I tried to explain that finically it had been hard I told her i had, had 2 minor heart attacks I have been getting blood transfusions she cuts me off and asked what my name was I said Brenda Charles I said I gave you my Driver's license and social security card she rudely said just to pay the bill. I have been working with Be a gift foundation and Susan from St Lukes. How I would like for this to be resolved is for Idaho Power to remove that 4 thousand some dollars off my account and to let me make arrangements to pay that balance off. I'm will work with them to get that paid that's the right thing to do although I wasn't the primary account holder, also for them to understand that right now people are going through troubles to be a little more sincere, I understand that she is doing herjob but I'm willing to work with them to help pay that bill if they can work with me and not only that but i kids are on c pap machines my daughter stops breathing 40 times in a hour my son stops 30 times so my children are the ones that need the power without it my kids can lose their life. I would like to thank you for taking your time and reading my concern. If any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me. Sincerely, Brenda Charles
