I could see an 8 % increase but not 17.35%.We received a 2.5% increase in our social security which was $83.00 dollars per month. Idaho Power is proposing to take approximately$ 21.66 of that per month. They ask for an increase everyyear. Intermountain Gas has asked for several decreases over the same time period. Idaho Power produces 12 of their electricity using natural gas that should benefit them the same as myself. Maybe they should make do with a little less like their consumers do." My wife and I are on a fixed income and will see no increase in our Social Security that will begin to cover this expense. We will be adding our voices to the no votes on this issue." Reading the key points of their flyer included in my past billing, I ask that the IPUC stand up to these proposals. I am thankful for the IPUC to be there, to represent the rate payers---we are getting hit with a "death by a thousand cuts" billing environment in the past year as you might well know. Inflation, insurance, etc. all in the mix with their sharp increases. I propose that the company use its dividend payout to cover these added costs. Especially the Residential service charge going from 15 to 25 USD needs to be tabled...I sense it hurts the lowest bracket of payers. Ida corp needs to take this on, not the rate payers. Thank you for your duty and time in representing us. So much for Idaho residents benefiting from low energy prices. Idaho Power has been steadily requesting rate increases across all rate structures and the IPUC has been very favorable to most of their requests. The one thing that the IPUC does not 2 seem to take into account is all the money that Idaho Power keeps sending to it's Shareholders on Wall Street via dividend payouts. If Idaho Power was really struggling financially, they would have stopped paying dividends to it's shareholders a long time ago. This committee has refused to take Idaho Power's financials into account when reviewing past cases. It must start doing so. Please remember that you are dealing with a "For Profit" organization that has a monopoly in a majority of Idaho:' ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 3
