Comment: "I am contacting you regarding the purposed water rate increase with Falls
Water Company.We had a significant increase in water rates last year that more than
doubled our water payment. Our most recent water bill was $138.00. Our lawn has dead
spots all over it because we are trying to cut down on our water usage. Falls Water
company has a monopoly on the water charges because ultimately they are the only
company we get our water supply from. In the end we will end up watering more to keep our
grass alive and looking good because of our HOA rules.While the rate increase has already
gone up so much it's still cheaper than replacing a lawn everyyear. Our water bill is more
than our electricity and gas bill combined. We shouldn't have to choose between paying
extremely high water rates or the money to replant a lawn every year. If the rates go up more
and many can't afford to keep their yards alive it also impacts our home value. Over all it
just seems like a pretty crappy practice to keep raising rates when customers have no other
options to get their water. It's totally taking advantage of the monopoly they have.Thank
