I'm expressing my concerns for people that can't afford their utilitie bills already, people on social security, and low income people. I have a cabin in Cascade that sits empty all the time and I have the breaker off. Not too long ago it was only$5 for the service fee, just to have it sit there with no usage. Then it went to $10, then to$15 now wanting$25. Also with my home in Boise, another$25 added to the usage charges. This has to stop. I will have to pay$25 just to have service, then the usage gets added to that. I am hit with high property taxes on my home here in town and in Cascade, so eventually the State looks to own both of them because you can't pay your property taxes. There needs to be a law regulating utilities or give retired seniors a reduction program like at least the state does for property taxes so we can have utilities that we can afford. If you are over 65, you should be able to have some kind of help instead of just pricing seniors out of having electricity. CEO's don't need raises and Idaho Power doesn't need to raise rates so far out that lower income seniors can't afford their electricity. That basis service fee has been raised every year and it doesn't need to be raised again. Let the people with big wallets pay more, charge large businesses more, but leave residential residents alone or take into account what some people live on and adjust accordingly. I don't get anywhere near a raise each year that will take care of these constant price increases. It's shameful.
