Idaho power recently claimed they were adding a battery plant in my neighborhood to offset rising costs... Two weeks later you're raising the rate. You are bureaucratically insulated as a monopoly. We the people will drag your corporate officers through the streets and hang them from light poles when the fall of society happens. Stop raping the people's pocketbooks for your own profit margin. I work for the state of Idaho and they gave me a 4% raise for inflation in living expenses.. I don't think a 17% increase is justified or fair. The power would be less expensive if they supported solar since it would be transmissible to close neighbors, and many solar owners have battery backups as well to help with peak demands. Solar works best during times of peak power demand. I strongly oppose any and all efforts of Idaho Power raising rates until they can figure out a better way to lower their own costs and work with solar owners to do so:' -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Name: Lisa Riley Submission Time: Jun 42025 4:13AM Email: Lisariley83@hotmail.com Telephone: 208-841-3815 Address: 514Yakima Ave Filer, ID 83328 Name of Utility Company: Idaho Power Case ID: IPC-E-25-16 Comment: "It seems patently unfair for Idaho Power to continue to ask for rate increases far and above the COLA seniors get for Social Security. How are people to afford power and eat?Should they pay for medicines or power? Idaho Power's bottom line can afford to not raise rates in this unstable economic situation. Firstly, request a detailed breakdown of the justification for this significant rate hike. A 17% increase far surpasses the usual inflationary factors that affect costs such as labor, benefits, and utilities. This proposal seems to be a preemptive measure rather than a necessary adjustment, making it excessively burdensome for consumers. We need to ensure that any increase is fair and truly reflective of actual cost increases, not an arbitrary or excessive financial burden on the community." -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The following comment was submitted via PUCWeb: Name: Kathryn Ralstin Submission Time: Jun 3 2025 11:14PM Email: kathrynralstin@gmail.com Telephone: 208-412-1342 Address: 20691 gem ct Greenleaf, ID 83626 Name of Utility Company: Idaho power Case ID: IPUC Comment: "I don't have another choice for another power company. This wanted increase is too much! They want over 17%!They want more for investment, and then 28 million for more investment. When they say labor, are bonuses and an increase in payment a part of that? Are they giving themselves a raise??Sincerely, Kathryn Ralstin " -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 3 The following comment was submitted via PUCWeb: Name: alleen fish Submission Time: Jun 42025 1:52PM Email: alleen_47@hotmail.com Telephone: 208-760-0638 Address: 136 E Oneida Preston , ID 83263 Name of Utility Company: Rocky Mountain Power Case ID: IPC-E-26-16 Comment: "ID As a resident of Idaho and an older retired citizen I object to you raising the cost of our power. I live on Social Security and barely make it now. All my utilities have gone up and so has the price of my special medications and my housing has gone up. My taxes have not really come down as yet. My insurance on car and house and Medicare have increased. Retirement sucks when you have to depend fully on Social Security and am a widow trying to make it on one income. I can't take much more of this. I can't even afford to go on a trip or travel to see family because I'm so strapped as it is. So please don't allow the power company to increase our rates. Unless you can get SS to give a living wage then and only then I say increase. You have got to know that Idaho has so many people living paycheck to paycheck already. We sometimes look at our bank accounts and wonder how am I going to Live this month and what can I let go this time? Why would you put us in that position even further? You need to consider money doesn't grow on trees and we don't have a magic wand to make us more money. So please we are hard up right now and can't afford any more stress from financial funds. We need to have money to buy food and special medications when needed. We are strapped financially and can't be stretched anyfurther. We need relief too. And no we can't go apply for help because we are slightly over the amount allowed but yet we can't seem to make ends meet anymore. So please no increase on the power bill for residents. Residential customers, particularly existing customers, should not shoulder the highest percentage of any increase! Their costs are consistent year after year, so should be their rates!" -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 5
