BOISE (June 3, 2025)—The Idaho Public Utilities Commission has approved a settlement that will allow Veolia Water Idaho to increase rates that will pay for operating expenses and costs. The settlement was approved by the commission on May 30. Veolia Water Idaho initially asked for commission approval to increase customer rates by 19.84 percent. The settlement allows Veolia to collect an additional $7 million in base revenue to cover expenses and costs, which represents an 11.8 percent increase in base rates. The utility said the increase is needed to cover the costs of increased operating expenses, recover costs associated with plant in service additions, and produce a fair rate of return. In its decision approving the settlement, the commission determined it would allow Veolia Water Idaho to operate sustainably and reduce the effects of the rate increase on customers.
