Comment: "I am writing over concerns with the proposed Idaho power DRASTIC changes in
solar reimbursement rates. They just adjusted how rates were determined less than a year
ago. This is particularly concerning given that Idaho power has a Monopoly in this area and
conducted the study themselves. I installed solar in my home in 2023 with the
understanding that the way they would reimburse solar would change, however at that time
the proposed rate change seemed more fair. The proposed change of less than 1 cent per
kwh for most of the year is unreasonable. Especially if they are turning around and selling
my neighbor at 8 cents a kwh. I am a big proponent of renewable energy. I have a science
background and conservation is important to me, which is whywe did install solar on our
house. I am concerned about the solar industry in our state. I also feel that these changes
are unreasonable and will hurt the progress made in this are. At minimum those of us with
recent solar should be grandfathered in and an INDEPENDENT study conducted. I am
concerned that I will not be able to recoup in a reasonable timeframe the cost of my
system. I'm trying to be a good steward of our states resources and paid cash to install the
system upfront. Idaho power did not pay to install or maintain the system, yet they are still
benefiting A LOT from my power production. As Idaho citizens, we should expect better.
Again, it would be nice to meet our 2035 clean energy goals and encourage this industry, at
Least make it fair!"

Good morning,
My name is Jessica Prough, and I live in north Meridian. We recently got solar last summer
to the tune of$72,000 to help save on our power bill costs, especially over the summer. I
saw that you guys are looking to decrease the rates that we are paid back and I do not like
that. I am born and raised here in the Treasure valley. We have 5 children, and the cost of
power is ridiculous, hence why we moved to solar energy. In the summers we were paying
$400 + on power, sometimes even $600/month. We made this move to help the
environment and help to save money. I would appreciate it if you would vote no to
decreasing the power rates of return on solar. We didn't through $72,000 on our house in
solar for it to look pretty. We bought it thinking it would pay itself off in the long run and
allow us the ability to purchase groceries rather than pay a power bill we could make it
through rough times. Please vote no on the decrease.
