This significant cut threatens our investment in clean energy and the broader goal of environmental sustainability. We invested thousands of dollars into rooftop solar panels, encouraged by previous incentives and the promise of contributing to a greener future. Now, this proposal undermines that commitment, effectively penalizing families like ours who took proactive steps toward energy independence. The argument that solar customers shift costs to non-solar customers is contested. Studies in other states have demonstrated that distributed solar can reduce long-term grid costs and provide widespread benefits. Implementing such drastic reimbursement cuts not only discourages clean energy adoption but also appears to prioritize utility profits over individual efforts to combat climate change. This approach is counterproductive, especially as Idaho seeks to expand its renewable energy portfolio. I urge the Commission to reconsider this proposal and support policies that encourage, rather than hinder, the growth of clean, distributed energy solutions:' -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1
