Comment: "I am against any rate increase at this time. Gem State got a rate increase just a
few years ago consisting of monthly payments instead of bimonthly which doubled the
amount of the bill. And they reduced the base usage. We as customers saw no
improvements in the archaic water system.They did however purchase for themselves a
couple brand new 1 ton Ford, diesel, crew cab, dully, pickup trucks at roughly$100,000 ea.
Our water pressure is weak, there's a foul odor and growth of something in the water. And
there is still no back up generating capacity for a power outage.We are told from Leslie that
it's our responsibility to store enough water in case of an emergency. How much water does
a family of four need to store for drinking, cooking, cleaning ourselves, and flushing away
human waste? Oh, they did put in some cut rate meters that they can read from the
comfort of their new trucks. But that doesn't help us does it?They, Gem State have done
nothing to improve the Troy Hoffman water system or bring it up to date. I thought that was
the reason for the last rate increase. Gem State needs to be held accountable for what
happened to the money from their last rate increase. I would inquire about this information
myself but they don't answer the phone or return calls.
No. I'm not at all in favor of lining their pockets with more money when they didn't use the
money they got last time for improvements to the system. "

proportion to current inflation rates. Please use your authority to keep increases in line with
