SUBJECT: IN THE MATTER OF THE APPLICATION OF IDAHO POWER
COMPANY FOR APPROVAL OF THE NORTH VALMY POWER PLANT
NATURAL GAS CONVERSION AGREEMENT WITH NV ENERGY;
CASE NO. IPC-E-25-03.
On January 31, 2025, Idaho Power Company ("Company") filed an application
("Application") with the Idaho Public Utilities Commission("Commission") requesting an order:
approving a Natural Gas Conversion Agreement between the Company and Sierra Pacific Power
Company d/b/a NV Energy("NV Energy"),relating to the North Valmy Power Plant("Valmy").
On February 24, 2025, the Commission issued a Notice of Application and Notice of
Intervention Deadline. Order No. 36476. The Commission granted intervention to the city of Boise
City. Order No. 36496.
STAFF RECOMMENDATION
Commission Staff ("Staff') recommends that the Commission now issue a Notice of
Modified Procedure establishing a May 29, 2025, initial comment deadline, and a June 12, 2025,
reply comment deadline.
