Comment: "Veolia is a French owned for profit entity worth literally billions. The cost of
maintaining existing infrastructure should not warrant a rate increase - it's just the cost of
doing business, and should come out of their BILLIONS in profit.
If Veolia is adding new customers, and if that infrastructure costs money to serve those
customers, impact fees should cover that, not an increase to residences that already exist.
A 20% increase is just greed - and they are not below average for water rates in the area.
They asked for an increase last year, and were awarded a partial increase. The PUC should
remind them of their increase and tell them to come back to the table in ten years.
