Comment: "Received a water rate increase in the mail from Gem State water in Athol,
Idaho. A 79% increase is ridiculous! I'd like more detail as to why such a large increase,
what is written in letter is not justification. My pay increases about 3% per year, how can
Locals afford this kind of water bill increase? I'd also like to add that this water increase
brings the cost up to many cities that include sewer service, we are on a septic! "

Comment: "I think a public hearing on the matter of Gem State Water requesting an
increase is absolutely necessary. My neighbors and I are stunned with the proposed
increase and deserve to have our voices heard. To the best of my knowledge, we have not
been notified prior to this month. I believe that the burden we are expected to bear is due to
the lack of due diligence on the part of Gem State in their acquisition of the facility from
Diamond Bar Water several years ago."

Comment: "A rate increase of 53% is outlandish.We are retired and trying to live on social
security with this amount of an increase puts unnecessary strain and stress on our
household finances,further more the water rates now are too high especially the irrigation
water for last year June to July my bill was over$550.!And that was only irrigating less than
1/2 acre to keep it safe from fire the rest of the property turned brown.This rate increase
needs to be rejected ! Thank you Robert Rossi "
