BOISE (March 13,2025)—The Idaho Public Utilities Commission has scheduled dates for a virtual workshop, customer hearing, technical hearing and set the deadline for public comments regarding Veolia Water Idaho's application to increase rates. The utility is seeking commission approval to increase rates by 20.5 percent. If the commission approves the request in full, the average residential customer's bill will increase by$6.77 per month and the average commercial customer's bill will increase by $24.63 per month. Included in the utility's service territory are customers who were previously served by Eagle Water Company. These customers were granted legacy status, which set their rates at a fixed amount for a period of time. Rates will continue to phase in over time. If the utility's request is approved in full, the Eagle average residential customer will see an increase of$4.52 per month and the average Eagle commercial customer will see an increase of$16.42 per month. Commission staff will host an online workshop on Thursday, March 20, 2025. They will present an overview of Veolia's application and answer questions. The workshop will begin at 6:00 p.m. and conclude at 8:00 p.m. or after all customer questions have been answered, whichever comes first. In addition to the online workshop, the commission will hold a customer hearing on Tuesday, May 13, 2025, to take testimony for the record. The hearing will begin at 6:00 p.m. and conclude at 9:00 p.m. or after all customer testimony has been taken, whichever comes first. The hearing will be held at the Idaho Public Utilities Commission, 11331 W. Chinden Boulevard, Building 8, Suite 201-A, Boise, ID, 83714. In-person attendance is required to submit testimony. Those interested in listening to the hearing can call 1-415-655-0001 and enter meeting number 2862 059 1623 when prompted. The commission will hold a technical hearing from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 21, 2025. It will be held at the commission's office at 11331 W. Chinden Boulevard, Building 8, Suite 201-A, Boise, ID, 83714. A technical hearing is an opportunity for parties to the case to present witnesses, testimony and exhibits.
