BOISE (March 12,2025)—The Idaho Public Utilities Commission has approved an application from an eastern Idaho water utility that will allow it to expand its service territory. Rocky Mountain Utilities sought commission approval to have its Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity amended. The utility will be allowed to serve Divisions 2 and 3 of the Pepperwood Crossing subdivision in Jefferson County, Idaho. Its system currently serves 108 residential and 11 commercial customers. The number of customers could grow to 254 with full development of the expanded territory. The commission determined the system had adequate water capacity to meet regulations and future demand in its service territory. The commission also determined the utility's system was properly maintained. The amended certificate also will allow the utility to continue to serve the 11 commercial customers.
