My recommendation is that Avista CONTROL THEIR COSTS, BACK AWAY FROM UNSUPPORTABLE SO- CALLED "renewable" resources and focus on our plentiful hydro-power based, economical power provisioning systems." --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Name: Scott Eustice Submission Time: Feb 10 2025 7:37PM Email: scotteustice@gmail.com Telephone: 208-651-7098 Address: 1160 W Deschutes Ave Post Falls Idaho 83854-0000 Post Falls, ID 83854-0000 Name of Utility Company:Avista Case ID: AVU-E-25-01 Comment: "I am tired of having to turn the heat down on a single temperature day so i don't have to go without something else so i can stay warm. All the utilities rates keep going up but my paycheck don't keep up with the rate increases." --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Name: J Bowen Submission Time: Feb 10 2025 9:13PM Email: jenn6bowen@gmail.com Telephone: 619-743-8624 Address: 1127 E Indiana Ave Coeur d'Alene, ID 83814 Name of Utility Company:Avista Case ID: AVU-E-25-01 Comment: "Ridiculous rate hikes coming in both September 2025 and 2026 on both electric and gas. Why aren't the incoming developers paying for all the upgrades and improvements to the infrastructure that Avista claims are essential?Avista is profitable. They have a monopoly." 1 --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The following comment was submitted via PUCWeb: Name: Gina Love Submission Time: Feb 112025 7:40AM Email: GL5683@gmail.com Telephone:405-820-5683 Address: 7467 Weat Majestic Ave Rathdrum, ID 83858 Name of Utility Company:Avista Case ID: AVU-E-25-01 Comment: "I am a senior citizen and want to oppose the utilityrate hikes Avista is doing. My bill rose 37% in one month and I can barely get by. I keep my thermostat at 65 and have not added anything to have caused this. I even have a brand new heat and air unit that was installed last summer. My bill went from $85 last month to $125 this month. I'm in a fixed income and more rate hikes are not maintainable." --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The following comment was submitted via PUCWeb: Name: Kimberly Shipman Submission Time: Feb 112025 9:23AM Email: Shippysgal@gmail.com Telephone: 253-948-2816 Address: 14777 N Pristine Circle Rathdrum, ID 83858 Name of Utility Company:Avista Case ID: AVU-E-25-01 Comment: "I have been reading that Avista will be raising the cost of our gas & electricity substantially in 2025 & 2026 and am vehemently against it. Avista's costs are already way too high and are making it difficult for many people to stay warm. We keep our house very dark(few or no lights) & very low temperature to save as much money as possible and the bill is still outrageous, higher than it has ever been. Please do not allow Avista to raise their rates. People deserve to be able to keep their house &family warm in the winter! Thank you, Kimberly" --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 2 The following comment was submitted via PUCWeb: Name: Margaret Walmer Submission Time: Feb 11 2025 2:02PM Email: margaretwalmer@hotmail.com Telephone: 210-427-9015 Address: 1130 E Timber Lane#6 Coeur d'Alene, US 83815 Name of Utility Company: Self Case ID: AVU-E-25-01 Comment: "I am writing to register a complaint against Avista rate hikes scheduled for September 2025 and September 2026. These hikes are quite large and will massively impact most of the Idahoans living in the Coeur d'Alene area, most of whom are already struggling with high rents and grocery prices. With energy now being investigated nationally for ways to decrease costs, why is Avista raising costs, and by so much? Why aren't these hikes paid for by incoming developers and real estate speculators that swarm our area? Those on fixed incomes will be less and less able to keep themselves warm and to feed themselves. Avista is a highly profitable concern, and there are ways around these hikes that don't affect the struggling populace here. I represent many who are in shock over these huge hikes. Please intervene. Thank you." 3
