Re:Verizon Business on behalf of MCI Network Services, Inc. Request for
Cancellation of Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity and
for Cancellation of Tariff
Dear Ms. Jewell:
Please accept this letter as a formal request by Verizon Business 1 that the Idaho
Public Utility Commission ("Commission ) cancel the certificate of its subsidiary MCI
Network Services, Inc. ("MCINS") and to cancel its tariff currently on file. This request
is part of an effort by Verizon Business to streamline its business operations in a manner
that will simplify administrative requirements for the company, regulators and customers.
Specifically, Verizon Business requests cancellation of MCINS' intrastate
authority and cancellation of its tariff. MCINS has no customers and provides no
telecommunications services. The assets and customer contracts of MCINS were
transferred to MCI Communications Services, Inc. d/b/a Verizon Business Services
effective December 31 , 2005 in accordance with state law and Commission rules.
We respectfully request that the cancellations be effective immediately. If you
have any questions regarding this matter, please feel free to contact me at the number

and other telecommunications services domestically and internationally.
